Your Holiday Hair Care Gift Guide
When was the last time that you went into the holiday season actually feeling prepared?
If you’re like me, you likely head into the holidays *feeling* ready to go. You’ve got a list of gifts to buy for those you love… except you can’t figure out what to buy for those one or two friends of yours.
You know the ones. The hard-to-shop-for-because-they-already-have-it-alls? Or, the ones who simply don’t NEED or want anything extra in their life?
Those ones. 😣
So, what happens? Well naturally, you get all of the gifts for everyone else on your list nice and early, all while hoping that you find the “perfect” gift for those other one or two friends along the way. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
Well I’m here to help you shop for those onesie-twosie friends who seem to have it all, but deserve a gift, anyway. The ones with a great head of hair, a love for self care, or maybe a goal to pamper themselves more often in the year ahead.
Today, I’m sharing my complete Holiday Haircare Gift Guide. You can shop by category, or read through every suggestion (see: also shop for yourself)! At the end of this blog, I’ve also rounded up some general goodies that everyone will love, no matter their hair type.
Get your shopping fingers and wallets ready, my fellow beauty lovers. Let’s get started ✨
Faves for Blondes
They say that blondes have more… products, right?
Every blonde needs a good collection of hydrating, moisturizing and heat protecting products. I recommend:
The Blonda Set from Unite: Because honestly, you can’t go wrong with a beautiful, salon-quality hair care set formulated specifically for blondes.
The Re:Unite Mask: Salon-lightened blonde hair is drier in nature, and requires extra moisture and added hydration. The Re:Unite Mask is the perfect way to pamper lightened hair, while repairing dry, damaged ends.
Faves for Heat Stylers
You likely have a friend (*cough* or maybe this is you *cough*) who always has perfectly tousled, beautifully styled hair.
Unless they’re Rapunzel, they likely use a good amount of heat styling to achieve those gorgeous locks! For the heat stylers in your life, I recommend:
U:Dry Fresh: This one’s a great heat protectant to use before straightening or curling the hair. In my opinion, everyone needs a product like this in their lives!
7 Seconds Detangler: Not only does this smell like heaven, BUT it provides hydration and heat protection, too. This one is best used right out of the shower, and before blow drying.
Max Control Spray: A good hairspray can change your hair game. Give the gift of a salon-quality hairspray that’ll hold your friend’s gorgeous hairstyle, day after day.
Faves for Fine Hair
Fine hair is beautiful, and so delicate in nature! For fine hair, all that might be needed is a bit of added volume.
Boosta Set: This is a great volumizing shampoo + conditioner that helps create that body and movement in fine hair.
Liquid Volume: Not only does this spray add volume, but it also absorbs and prevents oil. Win-win, right?
Faves for Thick Hair
Ahhh, thick hair. If your friend is blessed with thick hair, the chances are that they tend to opt for smoothing products and tools to help remove any frizz or bulk.
Silky Smooth Set: Similar to a mini-keratin treatment, the Silky Smooth Set will actually last in the hair for up to 3 washes. Mini at-home salon day, anyone?
Dyson Smoothing Blow Dryer Attachment: If your friend has a Dyson already, the smoothing attachment is a LIFESAVER. Trust me.
Dyson Supersonic™ Wide-tooth comb (Iron) | Dyson Supersonic™ Accessories
Faves for Extensions
Extensions require upkeep and a good amount of maintenance - so, any gifts that help your friend in that arena will be welcome, indeed. (Trust me, I know)
Silk Pillowcase: A good silk pillowcase will not only prevent tangles in your friend’s hair, but it’ll help prevent facial wrinkles, too.
U:Dry Clear: This is a beautiful dry shampoo that helps to prevent oil, without leaving a white cast. Extension wearers tend to need to go longer between washes, which makes dry shampoo a necessity.
7 Seconds Spray: When it comes to extensions, detangling spray is vital to the health and longevity of the hair. 7 Seconds provides heat protection, serves to detangle, and smells delicious, too.
Faves for Highlights
If you’re searching for a gift for a friend with highlights, I recommend:
Re:Unite Set: This is a reparative set that’ll help to nourish and strengthen highlighted hair, while preserving the color.
Blonda Treatment: Highlighted hair needs moisture, and the occasional toning. The Blonda Treatment will take care of both!
All-Around Faves for Everyone
If you’re rubbing your hands together now (and not for warmth, might I add), it’s finally time: let’s chat about some all-around haircare faves that everyone can use and love.
(And by everyone, I mean you, too 🎁)
Yes, this one’s an investment… but it’s an investment. There’s a reason why this is the preferred blow dryer for stylists around the world!
Babyliss Curling Iron
If you prefer curling your hair with a curling iron rather than a straightener, I can’t recommend the Babyliss Curling Iron enough! If you have shorter hair, I recommend opting for the 1 in barrel. If you have hair that falls below your shoulder, try the 1.25 in!
Wet Brush
Whether you or your friend have pixie haircuts or extensions down to your waist, you need a good brush that won’t tear or damage your hair. I’ve loved and used my Wet Brush for years! An added bonus: they’re a great price for stocking stuffers, too.
Olivia Garden Round Brush
This brush will give you the super smooth, bouncy blowout you’ve always dreamt of, without ripping your hair out of your scalp. So pleasant.
Kitsch Shower Cap
If you or your friend don’t wash your hair daily, a good shower cap is necessary. Believe it or not, throwing your hair up in a bun while in the shower won’t preserve the style you worked so hard to achieve - use a cute shower cap to block out the steam!
Invisibobble Hair Ties
Hair ties that don’t crease your hairstyle? Say it isn’t so.
(It is so, duh)
Gift Cards
So, let’s say you have a friend who is local to the South Bay Area, and let’s say that you still can’t decide what you’d like to buy for them. A gift card might be the perfect way to go!
With a gift card, your friend can opt for custom-curated treatments, or even apply the balance to their full appointment. To purchase a gift card, just click here!
Use this list to shop for yourself and a friend - someone has to be Santa around here, right? 🎅I hope you have a beautiful holiday season!
Please Note: I will ONLY ever recommend products that I've tried myself and love.
